Harihareshwar Beach

Surrounded by four holy hills Harihar, Harshinachal, Bramhadri and Pushpadri Harihareshwar is a region in Konkan which is amazingly beautiful with hills playing the perfect foil for long stretch of pristine beach.

A land beleived to be blessed by Vishnu according to legends and proclaimed as 'devghar', Harihareshwar and the Harihareshwar temple is of foremost importance relegiously. Known as the 'Dakshin Kashi' Harihareshwar with its temple complex with deities of Shiva, Vishnu and Brahma along with Kalbhairav and Yogeshwari is an important pilgrim centre and is chiefly responsible for exhalting harihareshwar as a tourist spot. Harihareshwar has more than one stretch of beach however the beaches in Harihareshwar are all rocky and are not ideal for a dip in the sea. The Harihareshwar beach north of the Harihareshwar temple is comparatively less rocky and one may venture out into the sea here. The sea near Harihareshwar is beleived to have strong under currents and is advisable to exercise extreme caution if you are entering the sea at Harihareshwar.
